THIS scary tree looks as though it’s just leapt out of a set for Lord of the Rings. Waving its looming arms, brandishing a pointy head and twisted body, it’s something you’d expect to see in the smash-hit movie Tolkien trilogy. In fact the spooky specimen – suspected to be an oak – sits in innocent surroundings on a quiet country lane at Boxted, near Colchester, Essex. Artist Charlotte Laurie, known as Busky, spotted the monstrous tree and said it appeared to have marched across fields to terrorise the roads.
